How does red light therapy work?

Red light therapy works by using low-level wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to penetrate the skin and stimulate your cells. This light boosts cellular energy (ATP), reduces inflammation, and encourages the production of collagen and elastin. It helps improve skin health, speed up healing, reduce pain, and support overall body function — all at a cellular level.

What are the most common benefits?

Red light therapy is best known for its ability to reduce inflammation, improve sleep, boost collagen production, support muscle recovery, relieve pain, improve skin tone and texture, enhance circulation, and increase energy.

Some studies have found metabolic benefits as well — including a 27% decrease in blood sugar levels in diabetic subjects, suggesting it may help manage symptoms of diabetes.

How many sessions are recommended for optimal results?

The recommended therapy schedule is 3-4 days per week, for 4-6 weeks. After the initial treatment schedule, it is recommended to continue 1-2 days per week!

Important things to note before you session:

Always wear protective eyewear. Failure to wear protective eyewear may result in burns or long-term injury to the eyes.

It is best to prepare your skin for your session prior to your arrival. For optimal results, skin should be free of deodorant, make-up, fragrances, oils, and lotions.

Remove jewelry.

What should I wear during my session?

For best results, we recommend wearing minimal, loose-fitting clothing or undergarments that allow the red light to reach as much skin as possible. Many clients choose to wear a swimsuit or go nude—whatever you’re most comfortable with. Just know that the more skin exposed, the more effective the treatment can be. Your privacy is always respected in our private red light therapy suite.

How long is a red light therapy session?

Our standard full-body red light therapy sessions are 10 minutes long.

If it’s your first time, we’ll start you off with a shorter 5-minute intro session to help your body gradually adjust. Sessions are quick, effective, and easy to fit into your day!

Red light therapy works best in short, consistent doses. Just 10 minutes is all that is needed to activate your cells, promote healing, and support benefits like reduced inflammation, better sleep, and improved skin health—without overstimulating your body.
